PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Parity Technologies (2019 - Present)
Starting as a Rust developer in 2019 with little blockchain experience, I have worn multiple hats across the years, the highlights of which are as follows:
- Implemented the majority of Polkadot's Nominated Proof of Stake protocol, requiring complex optimization algorithms to be verified onchain (talk).
- Polkadot maintains one of the highest Nakamoto Coefficients in the industry, with minimal stake variation among validators.
- Led development of Polkadot's core technology framework, Substrate Framework and FRAME, as team lead.
- Managed engineering teams of up to 10 people, both as an engineering manager and on a per-project basis.
- Curriculum designer and Faculty member at the Polkadot Blockchain Academy.
- Member of the Polkadot Technical Fellowship DAO, with active involvement across the ecosystem.
Beyond software engineering, teaching and technology evangelization are my core passions. I actively pursue opportunities to educate and inspire through my YouTube channel and blog, and aspire to always benefit the company I am a part of with my communication and teaching.
PROJECTS
- Currently implementing the JAM protocol in Elixir as an independent venture in the Polkadot ecosystem.
EDUCATION
- Master of Science in Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems
- Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
- Thesis: SonicChain: A wait-free, pseudo-static approach toward concurrency in blockchain runtimes
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering
- Iran University of Science and Technology
- Thesis: Node-XYZ: A Microservice Framework for Node.JS
PUBLICATIONS
- What is a Blockchain, Actually?
- The largest body of written text produced by me as a hobby project, aiming to address precisely what blockchain-systems actually are, what they can do, and how a system with such abilities can be useful.
- From Machine Generated to Handwritten Character Recognition; a Deep Learning Approach
- A research project on using deep neural networks for cursive languages such as Persian.
- Lazy Programmer's Guide to Angular 1.x
- Authored as an early Angular adopter, documenting insights into the framework before React's dominance.
SPOKEN LANGUAGES
- Persian (Native)
- English (Fluent)
- German / Portuguese (Basic)
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Extensive professional experience in Rust and TypeScript, with occasional use of Python and Solidity.
- Deep expertise in blockchain consensus mechanisms, distributed systems, and State-Transition-Function design.
- Built and maintained blockchain development pipelines using Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, Grafana, and Prometheus for reliable deployment and monitoring.
